How to Delete Your SeekSwap Account
If you'd like to delete your SeekSwap account, you can do so directly from the app. Before proceeding, please make sure you have no active or pending swaps, as these will be cancelled and the other user will be notified.
From the App (iOS & Android)
The process is the same on both iOS and Android. Follow these steps:
- Open Settings – Tap the menu button in the app and select Settings
- Find Account Options – Scroll to the Account section
- Select Delete Account – Look for the "Delete Account" option
- Review Information – Review what will happen to your data
- Confirm Deletion – Type "DELETE" (or "STERGE" if using the app in Romanian) and tap the delete button
Your account will be deactivated immediately and hidden from all other users.
If You Can't Access the App
If you're unable to access the app to delete your account, you can request deletion by contacting support:
- Email: support@seekswap.com
- Send the request from the email address associated with your account
- Include your SeekSwap username in the email
Deleting an Account on Behalf of Someone Else
If you need to delete someone else's account (e.g., a parent deleting a child's account or a legal representative), please contact us at support@seekswap.com. Proof of authority may be required.
What Happens to Your Data
Immediately Upon Deletion: Your personal information is removed, all listings are deleted, active and pending swaps are cancelled, push notification tokens are deleted, and you are signed out of all devices.
After 30 Days: Your account is permanently deleted and cannot be undone. You will not be able to restore your personal data or listings.
30-Day Grace Period
After deleting your account, you have 30 days to change your mind and restore your account by simply logging back in.
Important: Your personal data and listings cannot be restored after the grace period ends. Once the 30 days pass, your account is permanently deleted.
Data We Retain
Even after your account is permanently deleted, we retain the following anonymized information:
- Anonymized records of completed swaps (to prevent fraud)
- Your swap reviews (anonymized)
- Messaging records (anonymized)

Your Rights Under GDPR
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to erasure of your personal data (Article 17). Deleting your account exercises this right.
